Digital Realty Trust is a company that owns or controls 144 properties consisting of 25 million square feet of red hot data storage. Their more than 2,000 customers include Amazon, Facebook, AT&T, Oracle and the like. According to the Motley Fool, data center IP traffic and cloud IP traffic are projected to grow at an annualized rate of 31% and 39% respectively, through 2019 (published Dec. 8, 2016). Wow! All that data has got to live someplace--why not own a piece of the company that owns houses it. You’re buying stuff and sharing your life online--why not profit from it, too all?
